Greetings from the NSF Biofoundy for Extreme & Exceptional Fungi, Archaea, and Bacteria (ExFAB). After an exciting year of ramp-up, we are proud to announce that facilities at UC-Santa Barbara and UC-Riverside are now fully operational and ready to take on your most challenging microbes! This past fall we launched our first call for external project proposals to utilize our platforms - this resulted in 12 new approved user projects that you can read about below. Consider applying to our 10-week ExFAB CSU Scholars Program and also our ExFAB Summer School to learn state-of-the-art approaches for biological automation that are changing the game. Keep an eye out for our next user proposal call, too - we look forward to working with you!
