Bio
Brandon Greene completed his PhD at Emory University studying the mechanism of [NiFe]-hydrogenases and his postdoctoral training at Harvard, focused on radical transfer in ribonucleotide reductase. At UCSB, the Greene lab studies non-equilibrium redox biology spanning the redox landscape from thiyl radical enzymes to electron bifurcation and phosphorus redox cycling. The lab's work has been recognized by the Hellman Foundation and the NIH. At the ExFAB, the Greene lab seeks to rapidly expand the discovery, characterization, and application of redox enzymes to address pressing challenges in antibiotic discovery, synthetic biology, and biogeochemistry.
